• Explorer (free) gets Sunday games. Adventurer ($6/month) adds Tuesday and Mega Fridays. Hero/Founders Circle ($15/$12/month) unlocks everything
• Don't break, exploit, or reverse-engineer the game
• Your stories belong to you, but we need rights to display them. Future sharing features will be opt-in
• AI content is entertainment—not life advice
• Disputes go through arbitration, not courts

Welcome to What Do You Do?

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of What Do You Do?, an interactive scenario game where you navigate human-crafted, AI-expanded narratives through text entry. By creating an account or playing the game, you agree to these Terms.

1. Account Creation and Access

Creating Your Account

Requirements:

• You must be at least 13 years old.
• If you're under 18, you need parental consent.
• You must provide a valid email address or authenticate through Google, Apple, or Discord.
• One account per person (no sharing accounts).

Your Responsibilities:

• Keep your login credentials secure
• Notify us immediately of unauthorized access
• Ensure your account information stays accurate
• Accept responsibility for all activity on your account

Account Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in harmful or disruptive behavior
• Attempt to manipulate or exploit the game
• Create multiple accounts to bypass restrictions
• Haven't been used for 12+ months

You can delete your account anytime in Account Settings.

2. Game Tiers and Subscriptions

Explorer Tier (Free)

• Access: Sunday games only
• Features: Core gameplay, basic characters, story transcripts
• Cost: Free forever
• Limits: One game per Sunday

Adventurer Tier

• Access: Sunday and Tuesday games, 20-turn Mega Fridays
• Features: Enhanced AI responses, image generation (2/month), PDF exports
• Cost: $6/month or $60/year
• Billing: Monthly or annual via Stripe
• Cancellation: Anytime via Account Settings

Hero Tier

• Access: All games (Sunday, Tuesday, Friday)
• Features: Everything in Adventurer plus 8 persistent characters, image generation (10/month), custom story preferences
• Cost: $15/month or $150/year
• Billing: Monthly or annual via Stripe
• Cancellation: Anytime via Account Settings

Founders Circle

• Access: Same as Hero tier
• Features: All Hero features, lifetime locked rate
• Cost: $12/month or $120/year (limited-time launch pricing)
• Special: Early access, founder badge, direct feedback channel
• Availability: Limited-time launch offer

Subscription Terms

• Free Trial: None currently offered
• Renewal: Automatic unless cancelled
• Refunds: Within 48 hours of accidental purchase
• Changes: Access continues through current billing period
• Price Changes: 30 days notice for increases
• Tier Changes: Upgrade anytime, downgrades at end of billing period

3. Game Rules and Fair Play

How to Play

1. Read the scenario introduction
2. Type your action into the text box
3. Navigate the story over 10 turns
4. Complete objectives or explore freely
5. Let your creativity run wild

Acceptable Use

DO:

• Share your experiences with friends
• Provide constructive feedback
• Report bugs and issues
• Create original characters

DON'T:

• Use offensive or harmful language
• Attempt to "jailbreak" the AI or circumvent safety protocols
• Share exploits or cheats
• Impersonate others
• Spam or flood the system
• Use automated tools or bots
• Reverse engineer the game
• Scrape or mine our content

AI Interaction Guidelines

Our AI is designed for entertainment purposes only:

• It generates fictional scenarios and responses
• Don't treat its output as factual information
• Don't use it for medical, legal, or financial advice
• Don't attempt to generate harmful content
• Remember: it's a game, not a therapist

4. Content Ownership and Rights

Your Content

You Keep Ownership Of:

• Characters you create
• Your gameplay choices and strategies
• Stories generated from your gameplay
• Any feedback or suggestions you provide

You Grant Us License To:

• Display your content in the game
• Store your game transcripts
• Use anonymized data to improve the game
• Share aggregated statistics
• Feature exceptional stories (with permission)

This license is:

• Non-exclusive (you keep all rights)
• Worldwide (the game is global)
• Royalty-free (we don't pay for your stories)
• Revocable (delete your account to revoke)

Our Content

We Own:

• The What Do You Do? game and brand
• Pre-written scenario frameworks
• Game mechanics and systems
• Website design and code
• Marketing materials

You May:

• Share screenshots of your games
• Stream or record gameplay
• Write about your experiences
• Create fan content (non-commercial)

You May Not:

• Copy our code or assets
• Create derivative games
• Use our brand commercially
• Claim our content as yours

AI-Generated Content

Content created by AI during gameplay:

• Exists for entertainment purposes only
• Should never be treated as advice or facts
• May occasionally produce inaccurate or nonsensical results
• Responds directly to your inputs
• Remains fictional even when it seems realistic

5. Privacy and Data

• You can export or delete your data anytime

6. Payment Terms

Billing

• Prices in USD

Refund Policy

• Within 48 hours: Full refund for accidental purchases
• Technical issues: Prorated refund if we can't resolve the problem
• General dissatisfaction: No refund after 48 hours
• Banned accounts: No refund for Terms violations

Failed Payments

• 3-day grace period to resolve failed payments
• Account reverts to Explorer tier if unresolved
• Past gameplay and transcripts remain accessible

7. Liability and Disclaimers

Service Availability

The game is provided "as is" and "as available":

• We target 99% uptime but can't guarantee it
• Scheduled maintenance: Wednesdays 2-4 AM PT
• Emergency maintenance may occur without notice
• Features may evolve or be discontinued
• Lost progress during outages isn't our liability

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We're not liable for indirect or consequential damages
• We're not liable for lost profits or data
• Our total liability is limited to your last month's subscription fee
• This is entertainment software, not professional guidance

Disclaimers

No Warranties: We don't warrant that the game will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific needs.

Entertainment Only: This is a game. Don't make real-life decisions based on AI responses.

Third-Party Services: We're not responsible for Stripe, Supabase, OpenAI, Sentry, or Vercel issues.

8. Dispute Resolution

Binding Arbitration

If we can't resolve things informally:

• Individual only: No class actions

Exceptions to Arbitration

These Terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Assignment

You can't transfer your account or rights. We may assign our rights in a merger or sale.

Force Majeure

Survival
